Lindy Hip Big Band

Lindy Hip performs at a professional level using modern musical arrangements that make the most of a 20 piece big band. Bookings include balls, cabarets, major events and swing functions.

The band started out as a stage band with most players coming from the Brighton Concert Band (now known as the City of Holdfast Bay Concert Band). It was known as hte Triple B Big Band and played for many years as the Triple B. In 2005 it was decided that the band should have a more upbeat name and after much discussion, it became Lindy Hip. The name is a derivation of the 40's and 50's popular swing dance "Lindy Hop".

The band rehearses on Monday nights at the Kauri Community &Sports Centre, Lipson Ave, Seacliff.

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings, 7:30 - 9:30pm at the Kauri Community & Sports Centre, Lipson Ave, Seacliff
